The Global Champions Tour in Valencia 6 - 8 May 2011

The Global Champions Tour in Valencia will take place from 6 - 8 May, 2011. This second leg of the 2011 series will be held at the City of Arts and Science in Valencia.

The Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Spain will be broadcast live by Eurosport on Saturday, 7 May, from 8:00pm to 9:30pm CET.

Live streaming of all classes will be online at www.globalchampionstour.com and social media platforms Facebook and Twitter will provide information.

The Making of a Millionaire!

One of the Global Champions Tour top ranked show jumping riders, who will compete at the second leg of the tour in Valencia, Spain (6-8 May), will most likely become the first millionaire of the world renowned show jumping tour.

The race is on between the highest prize money earners from the Global Champions Tour events since its inception in 2006.

Alvaro de Miranda Neto (BRA), winner of the 2011 Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Doha, Qatar, took home a prize envelope of € 153,500 after a successful weekend of jumping across the classes, taking his total pot of Global Champions Tour earnings to €611,595. He is on top of the 2011 Global Champions Tour Ranking ahead of Pius Schwizer from Switzerland and German rider Meredith Michaels Beerbaum, who placed second and third respectively at the Doha event.

Following the Global Champions Tour in Doha, Qatar, Meredith now leads the total earnings tally with € 972.755 ahead of Jessica Kurten(IRL) € 947,655, Marco Kutscher (GER) € 890.041, Edwina Alexander(AUS) € 878,899 and Marcus Ehning (GER) € 841,183.

With a total of € 285,000 on offer alone for the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix in Valencia, Spain, that will be run on the 7th May, one of the leading show jumping riders might hit the €1,000,000 jackpot.
