At the Equestrian Australia 2013 gala awards night on May 7, the NSW regional International dressage event, Thinline Dressage with Altitude was awarded the Equestrian Australia Event of the Year. In a strong field of showjumping events from around Australia, Thinline Dressage with Altitude stood alone as the only dressage event to be nominated.  It was a popular win to huge applause.

The 2013 Dressage with Altitude CDI 3* and CDI-Y event was the 3rd event of this international status to be run at Bradgate Park in Orange NSW by the small regional club the Central West Dressage Group.  Dressage with Altitude has gained a reputation of being a well run international dressage event attracting Olympic level international judges and riders. In 2013 the event was again a highly successful show attracting elite Australian Dressage riders as well as up and coming combinations. Each day the gallery was full with spectators and the Taste Dressage in Orange Grand Prix Freestyle evening was sold out several weeks prior to the event. The event is known by riders, spectators, volunteers and officials to be the “friendliest event” whilst still providing top competition and quality facilities at the fabulous venue, Bradgate Park.

The event committee and owners of the fabulous venue “Bradgate Park”, John and Bev Healey, have been receiving congratulations for this outstanding honour and achievement from far and wide.  Gustav Svalling, one of the international judges from Sweden,  “…..I am happy for you …. you did such a good job and for me it was such a nice show and I will remember it for one of the best…..”.  Anne Gribbons, Judge from USA, “I am not at all surprised, since you run a stellar event which keeps its feeling of intimacy and charm in spite of being efficiently run by a great team”.

The committee would like to thank all our wonderful sponsors and volunteers and of course John and Bev Healey, who make this event possible.  The event has been an invaluable addition to the advancement of Australian Dressage, and receiving this prestigious award is a true victory for all the hard work and dedication that is required to produce such an event.
