Toni Venhaus - Finalist NSW Sports Federation Award Programme

Equestrian Australia has reported that Toni Venhaus has been named a finalist in the NSW Sports Federation Annual Award Programme, in the Category 'Administrator of the Year'.

 

The NSW Sports Federation is proud to recognise and celebrate achievement in sport through the NSW Annual Sports Awards and the NSW Officials Recognition Scheme.

 

The awards will be presented on 16 February 2011. As previously mentioned on this website Jan Geary was also a recipient of an NSW Sports Federation Officials Recognition Scheme, receiving the award for “Outstanding Official International/National.”
 
Congratulations to Jan and Toni, and well done to Dressage NSW for nominating them and raising the profile of Equestrian Sport by doing so.
 
For 11 years Toni Venhaus has directed the prestigious Sydney CDI*** - the premier Dressage Event in Australia and has been involved with this event since its inception 20-years-ago.  She has directed many Australian Dressage Championships, including the last 6. 
 
Toni has obtained significant corporate sponsorship necessary for such large undertakings. She has also directed many State Championships and assisted other organisers to stage this event.
 
For 6 years she has been Honorary Secretary of Dressage NSW, a council of Equestrian NSW.  She has shepherded the organisation through a period of significant change including the challenges of Equine Influenza, the many procedural changes as Dressage has sought to modernise its administrative procedures and to improve its status of Dressage in Australia.
 
Dressage NSW has two part time paid staff, overseen by the Secretary.
 
 For 20 years Toni has been editor and major contributor to Dressage NSW’s Centreline magazine, transforming it from a photocopied newsletter to a glossy colour magazine. Toni also maintains our very popular web site.
 
She has developed the three year Business Plan for Dressage NSW and has  shepherded it through annual reviews by the Dressage Committee.
 
Toni is on the Committee which conducts the monthly high profile dressage events at Clarendon NSW.  She maintains the calendar of all Dressage Events held in NSW (195 in 2010) and the Annual Awards records where riders are rewarded for their riding achievements throughout the year.
