Top Team Great Britain Para Coach Coming to Australia!

Top British Para-Equestrian coach Clive Milkins is coming to Australia in late February.  Milkins is the long-time coach of Sophie Christiansen, triple gold medalist from London 2012 and double gold medalist  from Hong Kong and is being brought to Victoria by TeamMORGAN, the supporters and sponsors of 21-year-old para-equestrian Morgan Webb Liddle. 

Morgan is the current EA Grade 1A Para-Equestrian National Champion and current RDA Grade 1A National Para-Equestrian Champion.  Morgan trains with GP rider Charlotte Pedersen at Macedon and owns and competes 17 year-old gelding Don Armani and 19-year-old Sienna Tailor Made.

Grade 1A para-equestrians have the highest level of disability and Morgan’s balance, coordination, speech  and visual perception are severely affected by a rare neurological condition.

Clive is also a former United Kingdom Equestrian Team Coach and Team Leader for the Special Olympics. Clive works with riders from three years old, and covers riders with many complex challenges including deafness, blindness, learning challenges and those with complex multiple neurological issues.  He coaches dressage, para showjumping and carriage driving.

Clive Milkins has recently returned from a very successful time in the US training their para-equestrian riders.  He will be in Australia from 25 Feb to 5 Mar and TeamMORGAN will be offering riders, parents, coaches and club organisers the opportunity to attend lectures and clinics.

Ms Liddle said ‘coaches are increasingly being asked to teach riders with disabilities and clubs are being asked to include para-classes in their events. The seminars and clinics will be a great opportunity not only for RDA and Para-Equestrian coaches and riders but also regular coaches and clubs who can learn about world’s best practice for developing riders with disabilities’.
