US Expert Calls for Australia to Develop Livestock Disaster Plans

A world expert in large animal rescue says Australian communities should have disaster management plans for livestock in place in the event of floods, fires, cyclones and other emergencies.
Dr Rebecca Gimenez from Technical Large Animal Emergency Rescue in Georgia, USA, has been in Australia delivering training to SES volunteers and other emergency services, RSPCA officers, horse owners and veterinarians and has stressed the importance of planning for disasters.
