'War Horse' the Movie Looks Like a Winner

Check out this wonderful trailer for the Steven Spielberg Movie version of 'War Horse'.  Something tells me we're all going to love this one!

Already rumoured to be a certainty in the Academy Awards best picture list, this movie looks like downright great entertainment, even though it could require a box of tissues for the more sensitive and horse-mad amongst us. 

The story begins with the remarkable friendship between a horse named Joey and a young man called Albert, who tames and trains him. When they are forcefully parted, the film follows the extraordinary journey of the horse as he moves through the war, changing and inspiring the lives of all those he meets - British cavalry, German soldiers, and a French farmer and his granddaughter - before the story reaches its emotional climax in the heart of No Man’s Land.

The drama, which stars Emily Watson, David Thewlis, Jeremy Irvine, and Tom Hiddleston, will be released on 28 December in the USA and is based on the book and recent stage play of the same name.

There's apparently a true story about an Australian horse and soldier, who fought in WW1 and were reunited on the battle field, which I am currently researching information about for an article - stay tuned to Horsezone for that tale!
