'War Horse' to Tackle our Horses at Warwick Three Day Event State of Origin Showdown

Published on Wednesday, February 27, 2013 in General

Kangaroo and Origin legend SHANE WEBCKE will be guest of honour at the Queensland International Three Day Event at Warwick from March 21st to 24th 2013.

Since hanging up the footy boots after Grand Final victory with the Broncos in 2006, Shane has never been busier.

He’s the face of Channel 7 sport, is a highly sought after corporate speaker,  penned  his best seller memoirs ’Warhorse’ and continues to mentor up and coming players at the Broncos.

Warwick Three Day Event Committee President Dr Cameron Osborne says Shane Webcke is a great boost for this year’s competition.

“Shane will be out and about at Warwick’s Morgan Park course on Saturday afternoon, March 23rd, signing autographs and mingling with fans and riders.

“We might even entice ‘War Horse’ Webcke onto the back of a horse, if he’s brave enough.” said Dr Osborne with a laugh.

This year’s Warwick Three Day contest will feature a chase for individual glory and for the first time, a team’s competition, with the Queensland squad throwing down the gauntlet to their NSW counterparts in a winner takes all State Of Origin showdown.

Olympic Gold medallist Stuart Tinney will Captain of the “Over the Top” Queensland team for this year’s gruelling test of both horse and rider.

Eventing is the ultimate endurance test of rider and horse, with three disciplines – showjumping, cross country and dressage  contested over three gruelling days at Warwick’s Morgan Park.
