WEG Day 1 - Team Reining Parts 1 and 2

The first day of the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games started off with all the fun and excitement of the Team Reining Competition - Parts 1 and 2.

So far Team USA are in the lead on 444 points with Austria coming in 2nd with 432.5 points. 3rd to 7th placing are very close with Brazil on 425, Belgium on 424.5, Netherlands on 422, Mexico on 420.5 and Australia on 420.

On the Australian front, Shauna Larcombe riding Silver Benz and Wawick Schiller on Peptos 1 Brow, gave very good and even performances, scoring 210 points each.

Stand out performances today included a brilliant run, resulting in the highest score of the day with 224, for Italy's Stefano Massignan and Yellow Jersey. Both USA competitors Craig Schmersal on Mister Montana Nic and Tim McQuay riding Hollywoodstinseltown, gave great performances with scores of 223.5 and 220.5 respectively.

Parts 3 & 4 of the competition will be held on 26 September (commencing 9.30pm AUS time) and it will be time for Warren Backhouse on Whizs Bronze Star and and Martin Larcombe on Top Prize Prince to show their style for the judges. Good luck to them from everyone at Horsezone!
