On the 28th of May, Vaulting Western Australia will be hosting the inaugural Vaulting in the Valley Carnival at Brookleigh Equestrian Estate in Upper Swan. This event invites participants from clubs all over WA to come and show off their talents.

Vaulting Western Australia is a not-for-profit working group, running under Equestrian Western Australia, which governs and facilitates the sport of equestrian vaulting across Western Australia. This year, the focus has been on creating events that athletes from Equestrian Western Australia, Riding for the Disabled Association, and Pony Club Association, can all compete in together, fostering the community spirit and promoting health and fitness.

Vaulting in the Valley is the third event on this year’s calendar, following the South-West Vaulting Challenge, held annually at the Bunbury Show, and the Saddles Plus Interschool Equestrian State Championships. Being a carnival event, participants are rewarded for participation, and vaulters from Collie to Carnarvon have been invited to come along and give it a go.

This is an excellent opportunity not only for athletes to learn about the protocols of competing, but also to teach parents and helpers about the various roles and responsibilities that they might be assigned on competition day. Two local judges, Paula Patricelli and Carol Brice, will be officiating at this event and helping to make sure that everything goes to plan.

The event will run from 9:00am to 5:00pm at the Brookleigh Equestrian Estate indoor arena.
