Westfalen Elite Auction This Weekend
Published on Wednesday, September 29, 2010 in General
The next highlight at the Westfalen Equestrian Centre in Münster-Handorf is the 40th NRW Elite Auction. From a breed that boasts successful dressage horses such as Reiner Kilmke’s Alerich, Rembrandt, Rubinstein, Goldstern and probably the most recognisable for Australians, Farbenfroh - the super expressive chestnut who wowed the crowds under Nadine Cappleman at the 2000 Sydney Olympics.

Sydney Olympic show jumpers from the breed included Daniel Meech’s Diagonal and Andre Sakaini’s Careful.
This year’s auction includes about 71 horses in total and as well as riding horses there are three ponies and four in-foal broodmares in the sale.
The top price at the last Elite Auction was fetched by Lot 10, a Laureus gelding from a Ferragamo mare sold for 66,000 euro.
