Woady Yaloak, a historical goldmining village 20 kilometres southwest of Ballarat hosted the final horse trials in Victoria prior to the forth coming prestigious Melbourne International Horse Trials at Werribee Park 5-8 June.

The committee, Woady Yaloak Equestrian Association and Golden Plains Shire have done an excellent job developing the facility inclusive of an amenities block,  all weather dressage and showjumping facilities and a spectator friendly Ewan Kellet designed challenging but very ridable cross country course.

Entries were strong for this popular event with nearly 300 riders competing across all grades ranging from EVa80 through to CNC 2 star. Credit must go to Katja Weimann winning the CNC 2 Star on BP Flamboyant after earlier in the week successfully representing Australia in the Oceania Teams Challenge Taupo, New Zealand

Weather was fine and sunny for each day of competition and conditions ideal. Though the nights frosty with temperatures dropping below zero on Saturday night. Riders awoke to a heavy frost for cross country day.

Woady Yaloak Horse Trials is a must do event on the Victorian eventing calendar.
