Horsezone Sellers Class Offers Great Opportunity!

Published on Wednesday, January 8, 2014 in Sponsored Shows

The team at Horsezone are excited to be running the inaugural Horsezone Sellers Class at the NSW Country Showjumping Championships, as part of the Snowy Mountains Showjumping Festival, tomorrow Thursday 9 January!

The is the first time Horsezone has run an event like this and it's looking like being a success.

"This is a great opportunity for both sellers and buyers! The Horsezone Sellers Class will showcase horses for sale and, thanks to Inglis Insurance, enables buyers to potentially earn back part of the purchase price. It's a wonderful concept and we hope to see more sellers classes, across all disciplines, in coming years," said event organiser Tim Dreverman.

The concept of the Horsezone Sellers Class is as follows:

  • Owners nominate a horse to be shown and compete in the Horsezone Sellers Class to be run on Thursday 9 January 2014, a Showjumping course is set, each horse has the opportunity to be ridden on the flat by the rider then jump around the course set at approximately 1m in height. The course is to be designed to be open and flowing, containing 2 combinations and a variety of other types of fences. Every horse is invited to complete 2 rounds of competition. All horses will compete in random draw order. The winner of the Horsezone sellers class is the horse rider combination with the least number of penalties and the quickest time in the second round. Prize money will be paid as follows:

1st  $400 (Plus trophy rug)

2nd $200

3rd $100

  • While each horse is on course the announcer gives the description, as provided by the owner, declares any behavioural traits, tells potential buyers who and how to contact the owner anany other information for each horse rider combination.
  • A rider may ride as many horses as they wish.
  • Every horse that goes in the Horsezone sellers class will have a minimum of 5 photos (maximum 20) taken. All photos will be provided to the owner at the completion of the event, however all will be watermarked with the Horsezone logo.
  • Both rounds of competition will be professionally filmed. Each round of competition will be able to be viewed after the event on YouTube, if a seller is unhappy with their round then it will not be made public
  • Within 24 hours of the class being completed all horses that are put in the sellers class will be advertised on Horsezone.com.au in the classified section, under the contact details of the owner.
  • All communication between potential buyers and sellers happens directly, Horsezone has no involvement in the sale of horses and the sale happens commission free.
  • If a horse is sold within 60 days of the class by Monday 10 March 2014 and Horsezone is notified in writing, then that horse is eligible to contest the $10,000 Horsezone and Inglis Insurance Bonus. Proof of sale transaction will be required.
  • To be eligible for the bonus a horse must have been entered and competed in the Horsezone sellers class on the Thursday 9 January 2014 at The Station, Jindabyne.
  • The horse must have been sold to a new owner, and Horsezone must have been notified in writing by close of business on Monday 10 March 2014.
  • The horse then must compete at the 2015 Snowy Mountains Showjumping Festival in Ring 1 in the specified class at 1.2m open section.
  • If the horse wins that class (this year it is class number 12 in the program - once the program for the 2015 class is written all those who are eligible will be notified), then Horsezone and Inglis Insurance will pay the current owner a $10,000 cash bonus.
