⚠️ Experienced home only — please read. We want to be completely upfront about Falcon and find him the right home.

Falcon has been my husband’s horse for 5 years and is a much-loved part of our family.

On the ground he is an absolute gentleman — respectful, easy to handle and fantastic for the farrier, dentist, vet, float (you have to walk in with him, not a huge fan of self loading). He will stand for pretty much anything.

In the arena, Falcon is fantastic. For lessons he’s great. Athletic, quick on his feet and moves beautifully. Even after a long spell, you can hop on and ride him.

He can be unsure with new riders, so he needs someone patient who will take the time to build his trust.

His difficulty is outside the arena. When trail riding, mustering or riding in open areas, he can at tone become anxious and very forward, rushing and pulling/fighting against the bit. He can be difficult to settle and has occasionally threatened to rear.

Previous trainers have advised that when he starts rushing and pulling, he should be brought onto a circle to regain his focus and settle him. My husband has spent many rides doing this, sometimes feeling like the majority of the ride is spent circling rather than being able to enjoy the ride.

We have had him vet checked, his teeth done, tried multiple bits and bridles and had a brand-new saddle professionally fitted, with no real change to this behaviour.

Our most recent trainer believes he is an anxious horse who needs more education, confidence and time.

As we predominantly trail ride and muster, my husband has lost confidence taking Falcon out and no longer wants to ride him in these situations. We feel perhaps we simply aren’t the right people for him.

We genuinely believe the right experienced person may be able to bring him a long way with patience and the right approach. We feel he would suit an arena/performance-focused home.

Unsure if Falcon can be registered, however I have tracked down his breeder’s name and can provide the details to anyone interested.
