Billie – Quality Young Mare Looking for Her Perfect Partner

It is with a heavy heart that I am considering finding the right home for my beautiful home-bred mare, Billie. This decision has absolutely nothing to do with her—it is simply because I feel she deserves a more active life than I am currently able to give her.

Finding the right person is far more important to me than making a quick sale.

Billie is a 15.1hh Andalusian x Thoroughbred mare who turns 7 this year. She is an athletic, intelligent mare with three quality paces, a soft mouth and a willing nature. She genuinely enjoys learning and is always trying to understand what is being asked of her.

Billie was professionally started at five years of age over a gentle 12-week foundation program where she was given the time to develop both physically and mentally. Since then she has been thoughtfully and slowly produced by myself, a mature-aged experienced rider, with the emphasis always being on confidence, correct education and allowing her to mature at her own pace rather than rushing her.

She has attended a handful of outings to continue her education and has taken everything in her stride. She is still green due to being intentionally brought along slowly, which gives her new owner the exciting opportunity to continue developing her in their own way.

Billie is a forward-thinking, responsive mare who appreciates a confident, balanced rider with quiet, consistent aids. She is not suitable for a beginner rider simply because she is sensitive and enjoys having a rider who can guide her positively.

She has shown herself to be careful over small jumps and I believe she has the potential to excel in Dressage, Working Equitation, Adult Riding Club activities or simply as a quality all-round performance horse.

Billie is continuing her float education and is improving with consistent handling. She would suit an experienced home that is happy to continue this training.

This is an incredibly difficult decision, and I will only sell Billie to a home where I know she will be loved, appreciated and given every opportunity to reach her potential.
