This is an absolutely heartbreaking sale of a much-loved horse. Poppy is one of the sweetest mares you’ll come across. She took me from off my first pony and no competition experience to confidently competing up to 75cm and loads of experience.

I’ve owned her for the past two years. When I got her, she had never jumped and I was very inexperienced, so it was a learning journey for both of us. She has come an incredibly long way and is now training up to 90cm, with 110cm single jump. Successfully competed to 70cm and I believe she has the potential to go higher with the right rider. She absolutely loves jumping and is a little pocket rocket. Very smart and trainable. More woah than go!

Poppy is a sensitive but very kind mare. She is not dangerous in any way and has no buck, bolt or rear. She can be a little anxious around loudspeakers and may get rushy, so she suits a calm, confident rider who can help her settle down.

She is a typical tb with her weight and although in great condition will need quality hard feed and hay every day, extra in winter.

Floating: self-loads at home. Can be a little reluctant away from home but improves with practice; prefers angle loads.

Very easy to paddock and respects all fencing (even non-electric). Extremely social and happiest living with other horses.

Flatwork is basic and can be a bit rushy at times, but manageable and improves with consistency. She is very responsive, and has been ridden happily in a neck rope at walk and trot, and done liberty work in hand work.

Only for sale due to rider wanting to move up the heights and unable to keep multiple horses. I will be very fussy with her home as she is a very special horse.

Not a first horse. Best suited to a confident teen or adult rider wanting to start competing or enjoy a fun, versatile horse, and someone who is familiar with ottbs.
