Children’s First Pony – A Special Little Teacher 🐴

Thunder is a 10-year-old miniature pony, approximately 8hh (not officially measured), looking for his next little rider.

We purchased Thunder as a first pony for our 3- and 5-year-old daughters, and he has been the most wonderful introduction to pony life. Sadly, our girls have now outgrown him, and it’s time for Thunder to find a new small person to love and teach.

Thunder is an excellent lead-line pony and can happily be ridden off-lead by a confident and persistent child. He has attended pony club and been out on trails with our kids, teaching them so much along the way.

He is a cheeky little pony with personality to match! Like many clever ponies, he can test boundaries from time to time, so he does best with a confident child or with some adult supervision when needed.

The good stuff:
Great to float
Easy to wash and groom
Good for the farrier and dentist
Used to pony club and trail rides
Fine with dogs (he plays with ours regularly!)

Like many ponies, he can sometimes be a little tricky to catch — though our kids seem to have the magic touch!

Thunder is priced at $3,000, or $3,300 including gear (pony pad, saddle blanket, bridle, and headstall).

This is a very sad sale for our family, and Thunder will only go to the very best of homes.
