Mack is a lovely, genuine OTTB who is looking for his next rider to continue his education and enjoy everything he has to offer.

Previously competed by his former owner in eventing and show jumping to 80cm under the name VT Maximus, Mack has spent the past 12 months predominantly focusing on dressage with an adult amateur rider, with the occasional show jumping outing and cross-country school.

He is currently competing in Preliminary dressage, schooling Novice and Elementary movements, and jumping around 80cm. He has also recently been cross-country schooling at Denman. However, jumping has not been his focus this year, as his rider has just returned to riding after over a decade away from English riding and has returned to the saddle and competition scene with him this year.

On the flat, Mack has a lovely soft mouth and is established in the basics, with his education at home including leg yield, shoulder-in, shoulder-fore, travers, renvers and counter canter. He is a naturally forward-moving horse without being hot or anxious and is generally very sensible and straightforward. He has brought a lot of confidence to his current rider and got her back out competing.

Mack's main consideration is simply his size. He has a big, powerful canter and requires a taller, stronger rider who can help him maintain his balance as he continues to develop strength. There is nothing naughty or dangerous about him; he is not particularly spooky, has no buck, bolt or rear but he is a lot of horse underneath you and would not suit a small or particularly timid rider.

For the right rider, he has the makings of a really lovely dressage horse. He would suit either an experienced competitive rider wanting an Equimillions-eligible OTTB to continue producing through the grades, or a capable adult amateur wanting a sensible horse to enjoy through Prep, Preliminary and Novice dressage. With another year of correct strength and development, I could see him becoming a beautiful dressage schoolmaster type.

Mack is an exceptionally easy horse to have around. He is placid, happy and uncomplicated on the ground, good in the paddock with other horses, and good to catch, shoe, clip, wash, float and truck. No stable vices or behavioural quirks.

He has a small, fully healed splint on the off fore, which is cold and inactive.

Mack is currently in full professional schooling, and his price will increase as his education and competition experience progress.

Only for sale because his owner no longer has the time for two horses, and Mack is the more suitable of the two to find a new competitive home.
