Jonquila is by Grandioso MG II (IMP Spain), a Grand Prix stallion and son of the calificado SENADO, from the improver stud Yeguada Militar. His lineage includes the influential MALUSO, AGENTE, and REMACHE lines. Out of GRANDIOSA (Marín García), Grandioso MG II carries esteemed bloodlines known for elasticity, suspension, strength, and expression, reinforced by SEVILLANO XI and ALBERO II influences. Briefly campaigned in Spain before importation, he went on to compete successfully in Australia, placing 2nd in Inter I Freestyle just under 70%, and achieving multiple placings at Inter I and PSG with scores exceeding 66%. His outstanding temperament and rideability are consistently reflected in his progeny. Notably, his half-brother competed at the London 2012 Olympic Games, and close relatives include international competitor Ulises de Ymas, currently ranked within the WBFSH Top 200.

On her dam line, Jonquila is equally impressive. Her grandsire Seni INDIO was awarded Silver and Absolute Champion for Best Movements and Functionality at SICAB 2008 and 2016, and competed at Grand Prix level in Australia. Her dam, Seni Zurda (IMP Spain), is an advanced-level competitor and one of the most recognisable and awarded coloured mares in the country, with multiple champion achieved from state through to national level.
