Multiple placings at Pony Club D and E Grade Showjumping
Introduction: Forestdale Elodea 'Bella' is a sweet, personable New Forest mare with plenty to offer a competitive junior, capable teen or small adult. A much-loved pony with a kind nature and 'all-rounder' education and experience. She has competed at EVA65 eventing and shows clear promise as a showjumping-focused pony to 85cm.
Bella is a fabulous all-rounder with encouraging results, scope to continue progressing with the right rider, and the sort of attitude that makes her fun to ride and easy to enjoy. Bella is sadly offered for sale only as she has been outgrown by her current rider.
Education, skills and experience: Over the past 12 months, Bella has attended many Pony Club rallies, eventing and showjumping days, as well as trail rides. With the right rider, Bella produces a sweet preliminary level dressage test, is bold cross country and is brave and careful to showjump!
Bella's experience includes placing at EVA65 events, multiple placings at Pony Club D and E Grade, 85cm Freshman rounds, and jumping single fences to 1.10m. She is reliable and competitive across all disciplines.
General demeanour under saddle: Bella is forward, willing and responsive. She adapts to her rider’s ability, is tolerant of mistakes and has a genuine attitude to her work.
On the flat, Bella collects when ridden correctly and gives her rider a good feel. She is ridden in a pelham for jumping to help lighten her and refine her responses.
Bella is vice free and is willing without trying to take advantage. She was broken in late and can be a bit quirky - please see Owner Response Document for more information - but is 100% safe at all times.
Current workload / fitness: Bella is currently in light work due to being outgrown and a new horse having been purchased. She is ridden 1–2 times per week. She is safe to hop on after a spell and does not require daily riding to remain reliable.
Handling: Bella is well mannered and sensible to manage day-to-day, including by a child handler. She is straightforward to catch, groom, saddle and wash. She loads easily, travels quietly and unloads calmly. Bella is good for the farrier and vet.
Feeding and management: Bella can live on grass alone but is currently hard fed as that is the owner's preference. She is adaptable in her management and is happy in a herd, alone in a paddock, or stabled, including in busy environments.
Medical history: Bella does not have any known past or present medical issues. She is up to date with vaccinations and dental. Vet checks are welcome at a potential buyer’s expense.
Rider Suitability: Bella is best matched to a confident intermediate rider — a keen child, teen or small adult who enjoys a responsive, willing pony and can give her reassurance in new places.
She is suitable for beginners on the lead and novices under instruction, but she is not suited to a nervous rider. Bella would particularly suit a showjumping-focused home, while also offering plenty as a fun, willing and genuine all-rounder.
Reason for sale: Bella was purchased as an interim pony while her rider searched for her first big horse. That horse has now been found, so Bella is ready for her next home. She will not be sold as a breeding prospect. Bella’s price is negotiable in order to find her the perfect home.
