$8,000

Gracie is a gorgeous thoroughbred mare. She's a very kind, willing mare. She thrives in jumping, with me competing 80cm, and with her old owner competing 90cm and evented 80. This is a heartbreaking sale, only to the best of homes, and will be a very honest and open sale.

To flat, shes kind and with a confident rider she holds a consistent frame, but needs someone who has an independent seat and hand. Her canter is very adjustable, and is becoming more uphill. Her trot is where she struggles the most, but with a confident rider she can produce beautiful movement. She's started to begin to stretch and I can trot her on the buckle. She's started to begin lateral work but needs someone to take it slowly with her so she doesn't get overwhelmed.

Gracie is quite good on the trails, normally takes 5-10mins to settle, but once she does she goes like an old timer, and has been trail ridden through creek crossings and gone for long trots with begginer riders. She's never strong on the trails, shes quite reliable and will happily canter along.

She's a point and shoot jumper for the most part. She's taken care of me around my first 80cm, and my first bigger jumps at home. She's very honest and looks after her rider even when she's a bit unsure. She can be a bit faster on cross country, but comes back nicely when asked, I've popped her over some 95s, and I reckon with the right rider and strength she could do this easy.

She recently attended PC State Camp in the dressage, and has been to our local pony club camp where she participated in stockmans challenge (over a seesaw, under pool noodles etc) without batting an eye. She's a complete water baby, and is super kind, she just needs a confident rider. She's never bucked, bolted or reared with me.

Things to consider:

  • She can sometimes be horse-shy out at events, though this improves every event and she's normally fine if you just give her a pat and tell her its okay.

  • She can get a bit tense in a dressage arena, in competitions, though I'm not very good at managing her, and with someone more experienced she'll be absolutely fine.

  • She can be a bit girthy, but I can discuss this further with those who are interested.

Gracie has good ground mannrs, she's respectful walking through gaits, tying up and lunges very well. She's great to pick up hooves and worm and do everything with, and is PERFECT for the farrier.

She's not bad to float, there's one technique which gets her on 99% of the time straight away, but she will feed of the handler. We've got an angle but she also loads onto straights with no issues.

Being a tb, she does have some fluid in one joint in her leg, I'm selling her with full disclosure of this because I want her owners to know how to manage it. Happy to send the vet report from when I purchased her to interested people. We manage her easily with pentosan injections, but she could probably benefit from 4cyte aswell. She has had ulcers with me, but was treated with gastropel and has been fine ever since. In her time with me, shes been barefoot with scoots, two fronts and all fours, though I think she benefits most from all fours, shes fine with any. She needs to be on a regular 4 weekly cycle. She's not an awful doer, shes fine off grass and hay if you have good quality grass, but if you don't she'll need feeding. During winter she's been on cool and healthy pellets and lucerne chaff.

She's been paddocked with mares and geldings, is fine with both but she is the dominant mare (our other three are awfully undominant so no one ever challenges her).

She can come with her Albion K2 dressage saddle for an extra $4k, and her Ikonic Jump saddle for an extra $1.5k, otherwise she'll come with rugs and other bits and bobs.

She had her teeth done in Jan, and is up to date with shots, she has tetnus and strangles.

I just want whats best for her, so if you think you can provide her with a loving home please get in touch. Vet checks are more than welcome. I have endless videos so don't hesitate to ask. Please MESSAGE not call.
