Introduction:
Hillview Park Denman Keikari, known as Denman, is a well-educated 12yo Thoroughbred gelding - a genuine, straightforward and competitive dressage partner. Denman offers the education, presence and temperament to appeal to a rider wanting a kind, competitive horse to enjoy and even continue developing up the levels.

Education, skills and experience:
Denman has been retrained off the track by his long-term owner. They have had a highly successful competitive partnership across multiple Equestrian Victoria (EV) and HRCAV events with scores consistently in the high 60s% to low 70s% in EA novice and HRCAV level 2 tests.

Denman is ready for his first Elementary start and is training Medium with established laterals and flying changes. He willingly collects, is soft and light in the bridle and straightforward to ride.

Straight dressage is his preference, as he does not enjoy jumping. He is also very suitable for showing and for Pony Club or Adult Riding Club activities within his flatwork focus. He is also safe and sensible out on trails and when ridden around the farm.

General demeanour under saddle:
Denman is willing and responsive, putting in the effort asked for. He adapts to his rider, is tolerant of mistakes and will step up for a more experienced rider. He is calm and reliable, although he can be looky in certain situations and may do a small spook if something major happens.

Current workload / fitness:
Denman is in consistent work five or more days per week and is currently competing.

Handling:
On the ground, Denman is unflappable, safe and easy to manage. He is well mannered to catch, lead, tie and wash, and is reliable for the farrier and vet. He self-loads, travels quietly and unloads calmly. He has been exposed to farm life, including tractors, trucks, motorbikes and livestock, as well as busy roads. He also lunges, trail rides and swims. Denman can live happily in a herd, in a paddock on his own, or as the only horse on a property.

Feeding and management:
Denman is maintained on hard feed and hay with simple supportive supplements as preventative care. He is currently in front shoes only. He is sold with his bridle and bit, and he is light and happy in a snaffle. A nose net is also used as part of his routine and will be included.

Medical history:
Denman has an EA/HRCAV exemption for the use of a nose net as he is sensitive to pollen. This has not impacted his scores or results. He is up to date with vaccinations and dental. He has been vetted recently and passed. A new vet check is welcome at the buyers expense.

Rider Suitability:
Denman suits an intermediate rider, or a confident novice with coaching, seeking an educated, kind dressage horse to learn on and progress with. Due to his size and education, he would be ideal for a young rider (aged 18–24), or an amateur or mature adult rider focused on straight dressage and trails.

Reason for sale:
After nine years producing Denman to Elementary/Medium training and competing Novice, his owner is focusing on starting younger horses and feels it is time for him to teach and be enjoyed by a new rider.
