Introduction: Lagoona Sunshine is a 4-year-old buckskin Australian Quarter Horse mare standing approximately 14.3hh. Located in Bowning, NSW, she is a well-bred young horse by Reyrosa out of Lagoona Hands Down, with registration eligibility with AQHA. Bred and produced by her current owners, she presents as a genuine, quiet young mare with a solid foundation and versatility across a range of disciplines.

Education, skills and experience: Sunny has had five months of professional training, including foundational work including snaffle bit training, mustering, cattle work, feedlot work and early cutting skills. She has also been exposed to trail riding, lunging, leading other horses and general farm environments. She is comfortable around machinery, livestock, dogs and busy roads, and has been handled extensively, making her well started with a broad base of experience for her age.

General demeanour under saddle: Under saddle, Sunny is willing, responsive and adaptable, putting in as much effort as required by her rider. She is soft in the bridle, willingly collects and is tolerant of rider mistakes. She has demonstrated a trainable and kind nature.

Current workload / fitness: Sunny is currently in work and being ridden three or more times per week. She is safe to hop on after a spell, although may benefit from a brief lunge after time off.

Handling: Sunny is easy to catch and well mannered on the ground. She leads calmly, ties up without fuss, loads and travels well and is easy to wash. She is reliable for the farrier, tolerant of handler mistakes and straightforward to manage in day-to-day handling.

Behaviour: Sunny has no vices and presents as a kind, sensible young horse. Due to her age, she may occasionally look at new things, hesitate or move sideways, and may call out once to other horses, but she continues to work willingly. These behaviours are typical of a young horse and expected to improve/ disappear with maturity.

Feeding and management: Sunny is easy to manage and currently lives on grass only. She can be kept in a herd, on her own or in a combination of stabling and paddock environments, making her adaptable to a variety of management systems.

Medical history: Sunny has no past or present medical issues, with full history known as she has been bred by the current owners. She is currently vaccinated for EI, had her dental completed in October 2025 and is managed both shod and barefoot. A vet check is welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider Suitability:  Sunny is best suited to an intermediate rider and would suit a junior, young rider or amateur adult under appropriate guidance. While she is quiet and well handled, she is still a young horse and requires a rider who can continue her education appropriately.

Reason for sale:  Sunny is offered for sale as she is surplus to requirements. She presents as an excellent opportunity for a rider wanting a well-bred, quiet young horse to further educate and develop, whether in a competition or pleasure-based home. Her owners would simply like to see her continue to progress and be well cared for and utilized.
