Introduction:

Lorendale Park Krayzelburg, known as Lenny, is a well-educated 16hh Thoroughbred gelding with a versatile competition background, recent results and a kind, rideable way of going. EA Life registered and actively competing, Lenny is a very appealing option for a junior or amateur wanting a genuine partner for dressage, hacking, jumping and eventing. He has an established flatwork education, broad life exposure and a sensible, genuine nature, making him a lovely option for a rider wanting an experienced horse to enjoy across a range of pursuits.

Lenny would be best suited to a home where dressage, hacking and all-round enjoyment are the main focus, with some jumping or eventing kept at lower, confidence-building heights.

Education, skills and experience:

Lenny has competed to Elementary dressage with an experienced previous owner and is currently campaigned to Novice level by a young rider. He has showjumped to 90cm–1m however, at this stage, he is most confident and happy to 80cm. With a confident, supportive rider, Lenny may continue to develop in the 90cm–1m range. He also has EVA65 eventing experience and is Equimillion eligible.

Lenny has a broad base of exposure, including busy roads, farm machinery, dogs, beach and river swimming, bareback riding, lunging and working equitation-style obstacles. This varied education makes him a useful and enjoyable horse for a rider wanting more than just an arena ride.

General demeanour under saddle:

Under saddle, Lenny is generally non-reactive unless something major happens. He is calm, tolerant of rider mistakes and happy to offer the amount of effort asked. He is soft in the bridle, willingly collects and gives his rider a pleasant, educated feel. He is ridden in a snaffle on the flat and is currently jumped bitless due to rider preference, although this is not a necessity.

Lenny’s strongest area is his flatwork, and he would really suit a rider wanting to enjoy dressage, lessons, hacking and lower-level outings. He is not a horse for a rider whose main goal is to chase bigger showjumping heights, but he has plenty to offer a thoughtful rider who values education, kindness and versatility.

Current workload / fitness:

Lenny is in work three or more times per week and is currently competing. He does not require constant riding to remain reliable and is safe to hop on after a spell.

Handling:

On the ground, Lenny is easy to catch, well mannered and straightforward to manage. He self-loads, travels quietly and is straightforward to clip and wash. At home, he is super reliable to leave tied up. Like the majority of horses, at competitions he has occasionally pulled back if spooked by something major. Lenny is reliable and sensible for the vet and farrier.

Feeding and management:

Lenny is currently managed on grass, hay and hard feed twice daily. He is adaptable in his living arrangements and can be paddocked alone, stabled part-time 12/12, or stabled full-time in a busy environment as needed. He is shod.

Medical history:

Lenny does not have any medical or management issues. Vaccinations and dental are up to date. Pre-purchase vet checks are welcome at the buyer’s expense.

Rider suitability:

Lenny suits a confident novice to intermediate rider wanting to compete Novice dressage with the potential to continue towards Elementary, get out and about hacking, and include some jumping to 80cm or eventing to EVA65.

Given his occasional lookiness, he is not suited to a beginner or nervous rider. He would be best matched to a rider who enjoys a well-educated Thoroughbred and is happy to keep the jumping in the range where he feels confident and capable.

For the right junior or amateur, Lenny offers a very genuine proposition: an educated, versatile Thoroughbred with current competition experience, a soft way of going, useful exposure and a lovely foundation for all-round enjoyment.

Reason for sale:

Lenny’s current rider is moving into bigger showjumping heights. Lenny would be better suited to a home where he can do more dressage and hacking, with some lower-level jumping or eventing.
