Lurch- the gentle giant with a heart

NEW TO MARKET 4/11/2026

LURCH (jackpot warrior)– 5YO TB GELDING – 18HH

If you’re looking for a big horse with an even bigger heart and absolutely no interest in rushing through life, Lurch might just be your guy! 😂

5yo Thoroughbred gelding, retired from racing a year ago and measured at 18hh last year (and he’s probably grown since 😬).

We’ve deliberately taken things slowly and left him to mature. He’s a big, raw horse with plenty of growing and filling out still to do.

A few things about Lurch:

* Extremely quiet and laid-back.

* Not matey or clingy.

* Travels easily.

* No vices.

* Has already attended a number of outings.

* Has had experience eventing (65cm) and showjumping. (65-80cm)

Been ridden by a 16-17 yro since brought off the track

He’s very much a slow-lane kind of bloke. Nothing seems to bother him, and he genuinely couldn’t care less about what’s happening around him.

Under saddle, he’s still working out exactly where all those enormous feet are in relation to the rest of his body! 😂 Rails may get knocked, and at this stage he seems to think going through them is a perfectly reasonable alternative to jumping over them. He’s not particularly energetic and is definitely more of a kick-along than a pocket rocket.

Because of his exceptional quiet temperament and sheer size, Lurch will be offered to the Mounted Police. We will be going through that process, but in the meantime he is still being offered for sale.

A genuinely lovely, uncomplicated young horse who seems to have absolutely no interest in making life difficult for anyone.

Please understand he is a big, young, green horse who has been given time to grow and mature. He’s not a finished competition horse, but has a lovely foundation to continue on with.
