PART-TIME LEASE TERMS & CONDITIONS

These Terms & Conditions set out the agreement between the Owner and the Part-Time Lessee for the care and use of Butterscotch.

1. Lease Type

This is a part-time lease agreement. Ownership of Butterscotch remains solely with the Owner at all times.

2. Available Days

Butterscotch is available for care and work on the following days only:

Monday

Wednesday

Thursday

Saturday

Sunday

Permitted hours: 9:00am – 5:00pm

3. Location & Movement

Butterscotch must not be removed from the property under any circumstances.

Riding and groundwork must take place only in approved areas on the premises.

4. Feeding & Nutrition

The Lessee agrees to follow the feeding routine exactly as outlined:

Feed:

Chaff and lucerne combo mix

All-rounder feed

In winter, clipped barley (to be supplied by the Lessee)

Quantity:

Two (2) scoops of each feed per meal

Feed to be given after workouts

Any changes to feeding must be approved by the Owner.

5. Work & Handling Expectations

Approved activities include:

Lunging on a lunge rope (lunge whip if required)

Free lunging in the small arena

Groundwork including:

Lifting feet

Patience training

Grooming

Respect handling

Riding (a crop may be used to encourage forward movement)

Washing and cleaning in summer when required

Rugging in spring, autumn, and winter as appropriate

All handling must be calm, respectful, and suitable for a gelding who may be stubborn at times.

6. Safety Requirements

A helmet must be worn at all times when riding.

The Lessee rides and handles Butterscotch at their own risk.

The Owner is not responsible for injury to the Lessee.

7. Veterinary & Care Costs

Lessee Responsibility

Any vet bills resulting from injury or illness occurring while Butterscotch is in the Lessee’s care or being ridden by the Lessee are the full responsibility of the Lessee.

Shared Costs (50% payable to Owner)

The Lessee is required to contribute half of ongoing care costs, including:

Vet – general maintenance (every 12 months)

Hooves – trimmed/shod every 6 weeks

Teeth – annually

Agistment – weekly cost

Worming paste – every 3 months

Hay – when provided

8. Equipment & Gear

The Owner has suitable gear available and is happy to lend it to the Lessee.

Available equipment includes:

Saddle

Saddle blanket

Bridle

Halter and lead

Lunge rope

Crop

Grooming bag and grooming items

Rugs (stored in rug bag when required)

Damage Policy:

Any equipment damaged while in the Lessee’s use must be repaired or replaced at the Lessee’s expense.

9. General Conditions

The Lessee must follow all instructions given by the Owner.

The Owner reserves the right to terminate the lease immediately if these terms are not followed or if Butterscotch’s welfare is compromised.

This agreement does not give the Lessee any ownership rights.
