Goldie would suit a lead-line show home or a confident small teen/adult rider with experience. He is not suitable as a first off-lead beginner pony or for a rider learning to canter.

Goldie is a striking palomino with four white socks, a blaze and a very large personality. He is well educated on the flat, has extensive showing experience and is easy to take out to new places.

Goldie has been extensively shown both in hand and under saddle, including Canberra Royal 2022 with a win and other placings. He has competed in dressage and attended Pony Club, clinics and obstacle days with experienced young riders, as well as Pony Club on lead with a beginner rider.

Goldie prefers the slower life. He isn't a forward-moving type and is generally happy to plod along. He enjoys flatwork and showing and, while he will jump, it isn't his favourite discipline. He prefers a smaller rider with an established seat and likes to build a relationship with his people. We feel with a consistent, experienced rider and regular work, Goldie could really thrive.

During our time with Goldie, he has been ridden by beginners at walk, trot and canter. We have observed that he can become unsettled with an unbalanced beginner rider at canter. For this reason, we don't feel he is suitable as a beginner's off-lead pony or for someone learning to canter.

Goldie loves attention and being pampered but is a cheeky Welsh who can test boundaries. He is very food orientated and may nip/search pockets for treats or sneak grass while being led. Treats are best saved until the end!

Goldie is easy to catch, trim, float, rug and handle and has been regularly handled by children when in regular work. He is happy stabled or paddocked, alone or with others, and is respectful of fences. He is good in busy agistment environments, indoor arenas, around machinery and is easy to take out to new places.

Up to date with teeth, trims, massage and worming. Barefoot with good feet. Never foundered to the best of our knowledge and best managed off lush/sugary grass. He prefers his rug leg straps kept a little looser side.

DISCLOSURE: During our time with Goldie, he has generally been reliable under saddle. Like most horses, he has had the occasional light spook. We have, however, had two occasions where he has humped and bucked with larger/taller riders. We have also observed that he can become unsettled with an unbalanced beginner rider at canter. We feel it is important to disclose these behaviours as they affect the type of rider he is suitable for. In our experience, Goldie is more comfortable with a smaller, experienced rider with an established seat.

Sold out of work with some rugs, bridle and all registration papers.

We would love to see Goldie find a home that suits him, get back into more regular work and be enjoyed for the educated, experienced and very entertaining pony he is. Goldie absolutely loves attention and has personality to spare :)
