Introduction: Tarcoola Love Boat (Gidget) is a fabulous schoolmaster with the world at her feet. She is that ‘one in a million’ thoroughbred that you only read about - a true unicorn! At ten years old, Gidget has already competed successfully in eventing, dressage and showjumping to National level and is a 2025 State Interschool Champion! She has proven himself to be reliable, safe, kind, trainable and sound. She is ideal for a rider seeking a no-fuss, kind and competitive horse for a variety of disciplines.

Education, skills and experience:  Gidget has been ridden predominantly by a young teenager and a professional rider. She has also been used in lessons for beginners and novice riders - safely teaching  fundamentals, balance and confidence through  Showjumping, XC, Dressage, Pony Club days,  Vaulting, Doubling, Obstacles and Working  Equitation.

Gidget is a pleasure to ride - she always aims to please, doesn’t rush and she isn’t lazy. Gidget does what is required and is a reliable horse who is ridden in a snaffle on the flat and a universal when jumping.

On the flat, Gidget produces a very sweet elementary level dressage test. She is responsive and willing, without being sharp. Gidget willingly collects and is happy in the contact. She is the current 2025 Equimillion Champion - Novice Junior Dressage - winning $17,500! Gidget also gained 4th place - Open Elementary Dressage - at 2024 Equimillions.

Gidget has competed successfully from EVA80 to EVA95 and is training 105. She is honest and brave - she willingly jumps anything from planks to brick walls and water. Gidget is tolerant of a ‘miss’ and a rider who lacks the perfect eye for a distance. She has scope, is adjustable and responsive. Gidget is 2025 State Interschool Champion and placed 8th at Interschool Nationals.

General demeanor under saddle:  Gidget is as honest as the day is long. She is a lovely horse to ride. Gidget has a fun, eager to please personality and always tries her best.

Gidget is not worried by farm life, trucks, tractors, mowers, cattle and dogs. She is willing and happy to ride out on his own, even on trails and roads. Gidget is completely unfazed by sideshows, fireworks and the nonsense of Ag Shows.

Current workload/ fitness: Gidget is in work and is currently competing. She does not need regular riding to be safe.

Handling and general behaviour: Gidget is easy to catch, saddle, groom, wash, travel (load, float, unload), shoe, and handle for veterinary or dental care. She doesn’t love being clipped but has only been done once. Gidget is a fuss free mare who takes everything in her stride.

Feeding and management: Gidget is an easy doer, tough and easy care - not your typical thoroughbred. She is currently fed Lupins, Cool Vitality, Stud Grow and Lucerne Chaff but will adjust to whatever feed she is given. Gidget is not fussy and is not one that heats up to being  fed up.

Medical history: Gidget has some scars that do not affect performance and are not ‘ugly’. She does not have any medical or management issues. Gidget is up to date with dental and vaccinations. Her owners are happy for potential buyers to do a full vetting.

Rider Suitability: Gidget has a heart of gold and will continue to thrive with a kind novice rider and above.

Reason for sale:  Gidget is very reluctantly for sale as her owner’s circumstances have changed. She is very much loved and only for sale to the best of homes.
