Welsh cob

Cwmkaren Thomas Rising 18yo, 14.2hh, solidly built bay welsh cob gelding. Thomas has been in our family for over 10 years. He’s been a very competitive SJ pony however we’re looking for a slower paced home preferably with trail riding or occasional mustering. If you’re a smallish adult looking to ride out with your kids or go trail riding, he’s your guy. He’s very forward though so no beginners. That said, he’s very safe; no buck, rear, bolt, spook etc even after not being ridden for months. In great health, good to clip, do teeth, s/c/f. Barefoot & never been shod. Many years left in him, he really wants to be doing something. His only ‘vices’ are that he needs good fences & doesn’t love being washed & will stomp his feet. Also has mild scoliosis which did not affect his athletic career. When in full work he’s pretty even on both sides but, after a break in the paddock he ‘factory resets’ to being slightly crooked. Won’t worry him as a happy hacker though. Comes with a saddle, girth, bridle & rugs (no stirrups). He’s very special to me as he carried my daughter & I around safely for so many years. Daughter now at uni & I’m not getting time to ride. If you can offer the following we will consider you: good feed, herd or at least 1 friend, good fences (electric, horse mesh, post & rail or similar), experienced rider. He will be sold to the most appropriate home, not necessarily the first.
