Welsh Mountain Pony

Chippy is a beautiful Palomino Welsh mountain pony gelding.

He is 14yo and approximately 12.2hh. In the past 3.5 years that we have owned him Chippy has taken my daughter from a complete beginner to riding independently off lead.

Chippy is more whoah than go and has been very patient with my daughter as she learnt to ride, however now that she is bigger and more confident he can really get going when she wants him to!

He has done heaps of trail riding, pony club and has competed in obstacle racing taking my daughter to High point Youth rider of the year and Runner up Junior rider of the year at the 2025 Australian Extreme obstacle racing championships.

Whilst Chippy has been great at teaching my beginner daughter to ride he is best suited to an experienced horse home as he has a cheeky pony streak, it’s nothing that a horsie family can’t handle but he wouldn’t suit a beginner family.

He is currently shod, up to date with teeth, worming and vaccinations. This is a really hard sale as he is a much loved member of our family but unfortunately my daughter’s legs are growing long very quickly and she is looking too big on him, he is a ripper pony and we would love to see him bringing joy to another family!
