Willow is a beautiful natured mare looking for a knowledgeable and understanding home where she can continue to build confidence and thrive.

She was purchased as a beginner pony for my daughter, however it became clear she was not suited to that role. Willow is a sensitive pony who gains confidence from her handler and would be best suited to an experienced horse person who enjoys building trust, confidence and partnership.

Since coming into our care, Willow has made significant improvements through consistent groundwork, relaxation exercises and confidence-building. She enjoys human company, forms strong bonds with her people and loves being groomed and fussed over. She has never shown any nastiness, aggression or malice during her time with us.

Willow can be reactive to her environment and requires a confident person who can provide calm, consistent leadership and guidance. For this reason, she is not suited to novice handlers or riders.

She lunges beautifully from voice commands and has had extensive groundwork invested into her. She is responsive, willing to learn and has shown considerable progress during her time with us. While Willow has been ridden by previous owners, she is being sold as unproven under saddle and is not being advertised as a ridden pony. With her kind nature and established groundwork foundation, I believe she has the potential to develop into a lovely ridden prospect for the right experienced person should they wish to pursue that path.

Willow prefers the company of other horses and would ideally like a home where she can be paddocked with a companion. She has a club hoof, however during her time in my care this has not caused any soundness concerns or lameness issues, and she has remained comfortable and happy in day-to-day management.

Willow is offered for sale due to being unsuitable for my daughter's current riding ability and confidence level. With other horses also requiring my time and attention, I am unable to continue the consistent work needed to further develop her. This is a difficult decision and finding the right home is far more important than finding a quick sale.

Willow will be sold with her recently refitted saddle, winter rug and summer cotton rug.
