Another lovely day in Toowoomba and plenty of action with Stonestreet's Coaches Dressage, Scots PGC College Eventing Dressage, Finch Farm Showjumping Competition and Jumping Equitation. On the Horsezone front I was able to meet more great competitors and their 'crews' from far and wide and chat about their wonderful horses and how much they're enjoying the Nationals! The first day of competition at the National Interschool Championships has gone without a hitch, under beautiful blue Queensland skies. The Chronicle of the Horse has reported that Jonathan Wentz, the highest-placed US rider at this year’s Paralympics in London, passed away on 30 September at the age of 21. Tina and James Wentz posted the following update on Jonathan’s Facebook page on 1 October: “It is with a heavy and numb heart that we notify everyone of the tremendous loss of our precious son and Paralympian Jonathan.... Events for the 2012 National Interschool Championships kick off tomorrow 2 October and will run through until Friday, 5 October. Approximately 300 competitors from all Australian States and the Northern Territory have gathered at the Toowoomba Showgrounds for this exciting competition, which covers a wide range of events including Dressage, Jumping, Eventing, Showman, Combined Training and Interschool Challenge....
