Equestrian Australia has reported that the New Zealand Team has won the first competition in the Trans-Tasman series at Hawera (Taranaki) over the weekend. After a very heavy storm, all Saturday classes were cancelled and the Grand Prix postponed to Sunday morning. Japanese dressage rider Hiroshi Hoketsu, the oldest competitor at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, said it was a "miracle" he had earned a slot at the coming London Games. Hiroshi Hoketsu (pictured), has won an individual dressage slot at the upcoming London Games when he will be 71. Hoketsu has topped the International Equestrian Federation's individual dressage rankings for Asia-Oceania, earning himself a place in London. ...
