Wagga's Equestrian Groups Divided on Venue Funding Issues

Wagga City Council is meeting with Wagga's horse groups tomorrow night to discuss funding for equestrian facilities. Council is under pressure to decide whether to invest thousands of dollars in facilities at either Charles Sturt University or Equex Centre. Wagga's horse groups are finding it difficult to agree on how the money should be spent creating a major division on the issue. ...

Gerco Schroder triumphed with Eurocommerce London being the only double clear round to win the Global Champions Tour Grand Prix of Brazil to take home 320,000 euros and a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso timepiece. One million euro prize money was duly divided to the top 18 placings. Most excting for Aussies is that Edwina Alexander placed second and remains on top of the Global Champions Tour ranking. Aussie Boyd Exell is competing at the FEI Open European Driving Championships for Four-in-Hand being held in Breda, The Netherlands and has just posted on his Facebook page that after dressage, the standings are Boyd first on 34.05, Chardon second on 35.71, Dobrovitz thrid on 44.80 and Timmerman fourth on 45.70. Simone Deitermann (GER) and Free Easy NRW are well known for their ability in the Dressage arena, but the German rider still said it felt “amazing” to be in the lead on her first visit to the Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials (GBR), second-last leg of the HSBC FEI Classics™. “My horse was quite nervous,” she explained, “and he is not used to performing on a grass arena.” ...
