World's Best Horses and Riders to Converge at the 2011 Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event

It comes as no surprise that the entry list for this year's Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, presented by Bridgestone, boasts the names of many of the best horses and riders from around the world. A field of entries containing Olympic veterans, past Rolex Kentucky Champions and World Equestrian Games (WEG) veterans will converge on the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, KY, when the Rolex Kentucky Three-Day Event, presented by Bridgestone, returns April 28-May 1....

 

Hot Danish Loses Battle with Infection

Sydney's favourite racemare Hot Danish lost her battle with a serious leg infection on Sunday morning. The Les Bridge-trained mare was being treated for what appeared originally to be a relatively simple leg infection but it deteriorated quickly. She was moved to the Randwick Equine Centre where vets have been battling since to control the infection....

 

Police Horse Dies at Kalamunda Show

Western Australian Police have confirmed that a police horse was electrocuted at the Kalamunda Show in the Perth Hills, Western Australia. Hercules, a 16 year old Clydesdale, was working at the Show when his rider came off and Hercules fell to the ground near a metal light pole. Police say Hercules appeared to recover, but collapsed and died after passing near the light pole again....

The small town of Kilcoy Queensland and surrounding areas were affected by the floods of January 2011, the showground was completely flooded; arenas and racetrack surfacing destroyed; and infrastructure badly damaged.
