Published on Tuesday, November 27, 2012 in General

The Saddleworld Dressage Festival strives to provide something for everyone with the introduction of the Family Day between 10:00am – 2:00pm on Sunday 9 December, 2012.

Whether you own a horse, know someone who does or are simply fascinated by these majestic creatures you are invited to come down to the Werribee Park National Equestrian Centre (170 K Road, Werribee South) to watch world class competition and participate in a number of fun interactive activities.

Activities include Parkland Animal Farm and pony rides, face painting, vaulting demonstrations from the Melbourne Equestrian Vaulting Team and even a visit from Santa!

Dr Max Hall the Equestrian Victoria vet will also be in attendance to answer all your horse and pet questions.

The feature events of the day are the Grand Prix Special in the morning, which will see two of our Olympic horses competing at the highest level, and the Marcus Oldham Aachen Challenge Final (for riders 16-25years) in the afternoon with the winner of this class receiving a trip to the Aachen Horse Show in Germany.

In between these two feature competitions will be demonstrations by the Melbourne Equestrian Vaulting team and Janene Clements with her trick ponies.

There will be free entry for children under 18 years and for all Pony Club members who present a valid membership card.
