2013 International Helmet Awareness Day

Published on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 in General

Calling all Helmet Manufacturers and Equestrian Retailers, Associations, Clubs, and Riders!

The popular helmet awareness campaign riders4helmets is seeking helmet manufacturers, retailers, associations, clubs and riders to support the 2013 International Helmet Awareness Day.

Riders4Helmets held their first campaign back in 2010 and this year celebrates three years of success with the appointment of Ms Carmen ter Rahe as their Australian Ambassador.

Carmen states, "I took on the role of the riders4helmets Australian Ambassador as I believed that we have a responsibility to care for our riders regardless of discipline and I am pleased with the amazing feedback and support I have been given so far on how the riders4helmets campaign positively influences and communicates with riders about the known hazards and risks associated with our sport, it’s great being a part of a global team bringing it one step further here in Australia."

Carmen is not the only one working hard behind the scenes of the Australian arm of riders4helmets. Amazing support and backing has come in the form of Australian riders Natalie Blundell, Megan Jones, Shaun Dillon, Sharon Jarvis and junior event rider Alice Hirst. Back in 2011 riders4helmets received assistance from 10 helmet manufacturers and

over 500 retailers in the USA, Canada and the UK however only one out of 500 was represented by Australia, Eqino Performnce Apparel and Tack. This year with an all star line up and a increase in interest riders4helmets hope that the number of manufacturers, retailers and others to participate in the up and coming International Helmet Awareness Day will increase.

"With the positve communication I’ve had, it would be nice to see a combination of at least 20 manufacturers and retailers participate covering all states of Australia, if we get more participation then wonderful but I think working together we could achieve a nice figure like 20. I'm also aware of some clubs who wish to use International Helmet Awareness Day as an education process and hold a riders4helmets safety day which is an added bonus, I can’t wait to see some of the photos from those events," Carmen said.

Although the official date for International Helmet Awareness Day is yet to be released, be assured that it is getting closer and so riders4helmets ask that retailers and manufacturers keep an eye on their inboxes or to ensure that they don’t miss out email Carmen directly at carmen@riders4helmets.com so as to receive information on how to register for the up and coming 2013 campaign. Upon registration of interest, participants will be provided with supportive promotional materials and media coverage.
