CLOSE OF ENTRIES HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL TODAY - WEDNESDAY 28 MARCH.

There is a huge programme on offer and this is an event not to be missed by showjumping fans!

The Mount Gambier Showjumping Club was formed in the late 1970's, by a group of enthusiasts wanting to promote the sport in the local area.  The club has flourished since its inception and is now considered one of the most innovative clubs in Australia.

The vision of the group who started the club was to foster the sport and develop a premier showjumping event in a unique facility.  Their planning came to fruition in 1982 when the first Easter Showjumping Festival was held.  The event has grown over the years and is now recognised as one of the top events in South Australia.  The Easter Festival is one of the longest running horse shows in the country and over the years played host to some of the nation's top horses and riders.  Several have gone on to represent Australia overseas and at the Olympic Games.

This year's festival is part of the South Australian ‘Horse of the Series’ events, along with the South Australian Showjumping Championships and the Kulpara Showjumping Classic (enquiries bradleyhicks@bigpond.com).  Points accrued in official classes at these shows will count towards winning the 'Horse of the Series' title. There is $1000 up for the winner and $500 for the runner up.  Horses must compete at all three shows to be eligible, with the winner being announced at the Kulpura Showjumping Classic.
