Bitless Inc Launched to Promote a Kinder Way with Horses

I would like to share with you some exciting news for the Australian Equestrian Community about a new National Equestrian Association that aims to promote higher standards of Welfare for horses in this Country.

Bitless Inc. has been launched! This is a non profit, incorporated association supporting modern equestrians, and a kinder way with horses.

With the recent decisions in other Countries to allow bitless competitors we believe the launch of Bitless Inc. could not have come at a better time. With growing support and interest in working to achieve the upmost standards of Welfare and care for horses in both pleasure and competitive circles we believe the right to choose a kinder option for our horses should not mean that people are then excluded from participating in whichever Equestrian field they enjoy.

Our goal is to support, promote and encourage acceptance of Bitless Horses both ridden and Driven within the Equestrian Community as well as to campaign for allowance to compete Bitless and to provided assistance, information and support to those wishing to make the transition away from bits.

Part of which includes establishing a Bitless Bridle Bank to make it easier for Members to try the different styles of bitless bridles that are available, on their own horse, before they buy, to ensure they find which style best suits them, their horse, and their chosen sport. Bitless Inc. will also provide members with top level Personal Injury and Public Liability Insurance coverage during everyday activities with their horses, competitions as well as training, regardless of what equipment they chose to use, or not use, on their horse.

This is something I myself am very passionate about and come to it from almost 25 years of Rescuing and Caring for neglected, abused and abandoned horses. I have had many problem horses come into my care over the years and have seen the sufferance many horses have endured due to the gadgets that people often resort to in attempts to deal with horses they deem hard in the mouth or difficult. It saddens me that bitless is not more widely accepted within the equestrian community and it is for that reason that I joined with some other Bitless supporters and sort Incorporation in hope that we may be able to bring about change for the better for many horses and their humans as well.
