CHABALLO 2013 SA Young Dressage Horse & Pony Championships is on Tomorrow!

De Niro, Furst Nymphenburg, Jazz, Weltmeyer, Donnerhall, Emporio van der Zwarte Molen, Gribaldi, Royal Hit, Fidertanz, His Highness… Names, Names, Names!

The CHABALLO 2013 South Australian Young Dressage Horse and Pony Championships is shaping up to be an absolutely fabulous showcase of some of the world’s leading bloodlines!

Guest judges for the event are:

• Susie Hoevenaars (FEI 5* Judge, FEI YH Judge and EA YH Judge Educator)

• Joanne Fowler (FEI 3* Judge, EA YH Judge and EA YH Judge Educator)

The event will be held at Tilling Hill, Echunga on Saturday, 2 February 2013.  A full program, including details of the breeding of all horses and ponies entered, is available via the Equestrian SA website – www.sa.equestrian.org.au. 

Well known South Australian based rider Ruth Schneeberger will be presenting three young horses - last year’s 4 year old champion Ponderosa Stud Royal Dancer in the 5 year old class, Ponderosa Stud Royal Salute and Franziska both in the 4 year old class.

Franziska (pictured with Ruth) is an imported filly owned by Sharon Cox (Roxleigh Performance Horses) and Rachel and Adrian Whiting (Matavia Sporthorses).  The mare was brought to Australia as part of an incentive program sponsored by the Hanoverian Horse Association.  The HHA’s focus was to export fillies with Hanoverian bloodlines that wouldn’t necessarily be available otherwise.

Ruth has been riding Franziska for around five months and tells us the mare is already showing ‘glimpses of brilliance, trainability and a positive attitude.’  While Franziska is younger than many in her age group, with careful riding, Ruth hopes to build her confidence levels and aim the mare towards this year’s Dressage with the Stars event.  Franziska is by Furst Nymphenburg from a Welt Regent mare and is the first mare imported to Australia by this stallion.

Ruth has taken the mare to a couple of competitions now and last week scored 8.2 in the Dressage Club of South Australia 4 year old Young Horse class.
