Countdown to WEG - 9 Days To Go!

Published on Wednesday, September 15, 2010 in General
Only 9 days to go!

Excitement is building at Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky and across the Equestrian world, in anticipation of kick-off for the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games.

Horsezone are proud to be sponsoring the Equestrian Australia WEG coverage and we're all waiting impatiently for the start of what will be a rivetting 16 days of competition! There are sure to be many highs and lows, stand out performances and edge of seat competitions at this, the biggest sporting event in the USA for the whole of 2010. In a country that really loves sport of all kinds, it is amazing to think that his year's largest event, for the entire USA nation, is an equestrian event! The Americans definitely know how to put on a show and we're sure they will pull out all the stops for WEG and provide an outstanding event that will long be remembered.

For those of us not fortunate enough to be travelling to Kentucky, do not despair, you too can feel like you're there, by visiting the Horsezone links to Hamish Cargill and Dave Cameron's videos from the heart of the action - commencing 25 September. Visit the Horsezone Facebook page now for a preview video. Hamish and Dave will report on all the excitement and behind the scenes goings-on at WEG and of course, the Australian competitors' performances in all 8 disciplines.

There are two lucky Australians who we know will be attending WEG and cheering on our team, winner of the Horsezone WEG competition, Nina Finch and her eventing partner Clinton Van Der Sanden, who own Rowes Lagoon Training Stables, near Goulburn in NSW. Nina has a passion for eventing but as a child enjoyed Pony Club and the Arabian and Hack showing scene. Being such a passionate horse enthusiast, we're sure Nina will have a fantastic time at WEG and look forward to hearing how the trip went!
