EA Announces the Return of the People's Choice Award
By: Michelle Cook/Equestrian Australia
Following a successful inaugural year, Equestrian Australia (EA) is pleased to announce the return of the People’s Choice Award with the winner to be announced at EA’s Sport Achievement Awards Night on 7 May, for which tickets are now on sale.
The award will call on members of the equestrian community to nominate their most memorable moment of 2013 for a chance to win tickets to the annual gala evening.
At last year’s awards night, the retirement of Kirby Park Irish Jester at the 2012 Australian International Three Day Event was announced as the inaugural people’s choice winner.
Equestrian Australia CEO Grant Baldock said the popularity of the people’s choice award has ensured it will remain a permanent fixture of the Sport Achievement Awards Night and encouraged members of the equestrian community to have their say.
“Your fondest recollection could be a junior showing exceptional sportsmanship, or it could be of a top Australian combination competing here in Australia or overseas. Perhaps you witnessed a coach or an official do something extraordinary or you attended a really great event that you believe was a standout,” he said.
To enter, simply fill out the form on the Equestrian Australia website and in 25 words or less describe what moment you rate as the best for 2013. All entries will go into the running to win two tickets to this year’s Sport Achievement Awards Night.
From all the entries EA will narrow the list down to five and put the shortlist to a vote on its Facebook page. The individual who submits the most popular memorable moment, as determined by the Facebook Poll, will get the chance to mingle with Australian equestrian greats and celebrate the heroes of the sport at equestrian’s night of nights on Wednesday 7th May 2014.
