The Hunter Under Saddle and Hunt Seat Equitation classes were also held today and many lovely hunters were on display, including the gorgeous big gelding, RQH Who's Ur Daddy, who won all his classes, whether trainer Kristy Mobberley or owner Lyndall Dauth was in the saddle. We were thrilled when RQH Who's Ur Daddy (aka Spider - a very appropriate name for this long legged boy!) won the Horsezone $1000 Senior Horse Hunter Under Saddle Stakes and Mark and I were able to meet Spider during the presentation.

Friday saw the amateurs competing in their Western Pleasure classes, which made me wish I was out there with them instead of in the stands! During the amateur classes, wonderful announcer Ralph Dunn paid tribute to Merey Colquhoun's gelding, Flashy Zipper (DOB 21/9/92), who was retiring following his last class at NPHA. When the crowd cheered for the accomplished senior horse (who has 2102 AQHA points!) he behaved more like a two year old than an almost 20 year old! Flashy looks very well for his age and has obviously been well cared for over the years - we wish him all the best for a long and happy retirement.

Sunday will see the halter events run in the morning, followed by the Aldridge Family Lungeline Futurity, then more Western Pleasure, culminating in the highly anticipated Di Candilo $10,000 Three Year Old Western Pleasure Futurity. This class will feature a top line up of quality horses, including imported stallions Smoochin and Sure A Fine Cowboy. Can't wait for that one! Stay tuned for results.
