Mondure Quarter Horses is set on a 150 acre lucerne farm located in South Burnett, three hours north west of Brisbane, Queensland.

Stud owner, Jolene King, says, "Our aim is to breed quiet horses with good conformation, athletic ability and trainable sound minds. Our main focus is on breeding open Reining horses."

Mondure Quarter Horses certainly has the stallion to support Jolene's breeding aims with the talented Lethal Lil Calboy, who in addition to being the winner of many Championships himself, is the sire of multi National, State, Derby, Open, Non Pro, Youth and Futurity Champions.

Foaled in 1996 Lethal Lil Calboy (Lethal Lena x Mahoys Lady Gemmae) has achievements that include QRHA Open Futurity Champion, NSWRHA Open Champion, NSWRHA Derby Champion, Royal Easter Show Open Champion and NRHA Open Champion.

Calboy's babies are currently out there excelling in a variety of disciplines and winning in the open levels of reining, campdrafting, barrel racing and roping, as well as at club level  western performance shows. They are also proving to be great schoolmasters for youth competitors.

One of Calboy's top performing progeny is Lethal Lil Katie, who Jolene has just purchased for her daughter to show. This mare has wins that include the VRHA Derby Show, snafflebit champion, QRHA Non pro futurity champion, NSWRHA snaffle bit, NRHA Non Pro Futurity and the Waterwheel Maturity Champion with 73.5.

Other progeny are certainly making their mark, too, "I just competed on our 2008 Gelding, Smoke N Calboy, at my first show with him (the QRHA Derby Shoot Out), where we won three classes and placed second in another. Smoke N Calboy was trained by Shaun Saunders and placed in the NSW and QLD State Futurities 2012," says Jolene.

David and Sandi Simons, owners of the lovely grey gelding Calboys Smart Play (by Lethal Lil Calboy), are huge fans of the stallion and have just purchased another weanling by him. While Peter and Gill Gould are excited about their latest purchase, two year old Mondure Lethal Lil Me, who will be competing in the 2014 Reining futurities.

Most of Calboy's 2012 progeny have already been sold, however Mondure currently have Mondure Calgirl On The Edge, a bay filly out of Forever On Edge (Thoroughbred) for sale, so if you're looking for a young horse with talent and a top temperament, contact Jolene now.

There are five foals by Calboy due at Mondure this year, from top quality mares, which include Chex Out Oakie (Murrumbo Fiona x Proud To Be An Oakie), Edenvale My Daddys Dunnit (Dunnit Downunder x Mr Gunsmoke mare), Cookin with Hugs (Hug Me Doc x Wagon Cook), Sophie Souix ( Kooluna Poco Dandy Doc x Gold Money Bars), Gunna Party ( Son Of A Gun x King's Mustang Sally by King's Casbrook).

Lethal Lil Calboy's Stud Fee is going up to $1250 for the 2013 breeding year, however, if you book with a paid deposit before 1 August you will pay the 2012 price of $990!
