Equine Herbalist Victoria Ferguson has just launched the first product in her Horsezecollection of equine herbal products.

“Over 20 years of practical research and development have created these unique formulas” Victoria explains.

The first product is the Herbal Skin Healing Balm.

Donnie wound - week two
Donnie wound - week five

Naturally made with Calendula Petals and Hypericum Flowers infused into organic olive oil and blended with a little beeswax, Garlic Essential Oil and one secret herbal ingredient, this product has been seen to be effective for relief of skin problems such as mud fever, greasy heel, rain scald, Qld Itch as well as cuts and burns.  It also keeps flies away.

Alecia Brimson from Darwin, NT, is just one client who has used the Herbal Skin Healing Balm successfully.  She writes “The balm goes a long way so in terms of value for money it is really good.  It is great at keeping Donnie’s wound moist and clean and definitely keeps the flies away so you only need one product for managing the wound and managing flies (something you usually need two products for).

I am now using the balm for all sorts of issues, bite marks on necks that horses create on each other over the fence, places that horses rub and scratch. So a very valuable product for the NT climate for a multitude of skin matters.”

Calendula is a highly antiseptic herb which also soothes and promotes hair regrowth, while Hypericum provides healing, anti-inflammatory and pain relief effects, the Garlic Essential Oil is a powerful anti-bacterial and anti-fungal which works against organisms present in greasy heel, mud fever, Qld Itch, rain scald, and also keeps the flies away.  The secret herbal ingredient enhances all the other ingredients while the beeswax preserves and helps to hydrate the skin during the healing process, in all weather conditions. HorsezeNatural Skin Healing Balm has a shelf life of 2 years which is a bonus.

Ultimately there will be a complete herbal product range including emergency response kits and remedies for common problems, all resulting from Victoria’s practical experience in treating horses for clients all over Australia.
