NSW Paint Horse State Championships a Success!

Published on Friday, June 3, 2011 in Sponsored Shows

The rain managed to stay away and the NSW Paint Horse State Championship show was a great one!

Held at SIEC on 24 - 27 May, some of the best Paints from Victoria, Queensland and New South Wales were in attendance. It was the NSWPHA 30th Anniversary show and this milestone was celebrated in style, with the show including some great events and prizes to be won.

The NSWPHA prides itself on being a family/social club and were delighted to have 100 people show up for the presentation dinner. It was a great way to enjoy some laughs and share stories, all while being fed in the warmth of the Riders' Retreat.

Numbers were down slightly but there was still plenty of big guns out in the pen. The Victorian Yearling “I Like That” took out the $1000 Versatility.

Highpoints were as follows:

  • Jnr Youth - Maddison Lane – NSW
  • Snr Youth - Lauren Louw – NSW
  • Amateur Owner – Suzie Bone – NSW
  • Junior Horse - Ess J Tonz a Gold - NSW
  • Senior Horse - Nothing Too Serious - NSW
  • English Horse - Nothing Too Serious - NSW
  • Western Horse - You Bet I’m Krymsun – QLD (pictured)
  • APHA Horse - Ess J Tonz a Gold - NSW
  • Paint Bred Youth – Maddison lane – NSW
  • AO Paint Bred – Lauren Harper - NSW
  • Paint Bred – Laying Down The Rules – NSW
  • PB Yearling Versatility – Circle K Cowboy Roses - NSW

"It was a great show," says NSWPHA President, Lee Wear, "and the committee would like to thank all our sponsors and competitors for their help in making it the Paint event of the year! Photos will be available shortly on the web, just go to www.agilephotographics.com Special thanks goes to the crew at SIEC, they were great to work with and we are looking forward to growing this event bigger next year.  Hope to see you all there next year!"
