The two day Inglis Australian Weanling & Bloodstock Sale came to a close on Tuesday, with an outstanding clearance rate of 89% recorded at the Sydney Sale.

Inglis’ Managing Director Mark Webster said, “I’m delighted with the results achieved over the past two days of selling in Sydney. Despite the appalling weather, we’ve had plenty of competition from buyers in the ring and online, and this is reflected in the outstanding clearance rate of 89% for both our weanling and bloodstock sessions, with over $6m traded.”

181 Broodmares, yearlings, unbroken and racing stock were sold for $2.5 million today, adding to the $3.5 million spent on weanlings on Monday.

The highest price recorded on Tuesday was $180,000 paid by Belmont Bloodstock for young Group 2 placed broodmare Sunday Rose (Lot 447 ). The daughter of Exceed And Excel has been booked to visit Widden Stud’s exciting young sire Sebring in the coming breeding season.

Buyers also took a liking to breeding stock offered amongst the Lee Fleming Thoroughbreds Unreserved Dispersal, headed Song Of The Sun (Lot 431 ). A half-sister to Black Caviar’s grand dam, Song Of The Son was sold in foal to Snitzel for $155,000 to Paul Willets.

Unfortunately Baltics (Lot 436 ) slipped last week and therefore did not make the trip to Sydney. The daughter of Scandinavia is still available for private sale. Interested parties should contact Inglis’ Managing Director Mark Webster on +61 2 9399 7999.

Well related four-year-old Redoute’s Choice mare Jaipur Princess (Lot 376 ) topped the race fillies section when selling for $115,000. While Group 2 winning gelding Pampelonne (Lot 491 ) made $60,000 when selling to Rosemont Stud.

Horses that passed in during Australian Weanling and Bloodstock Sale or Sunday’s Sydney Classic Yearling Sale Winter Book are still available for sale via the Inglis Make-An-Offer service.

Vendors are reminded that entries are close on Friday 5 July for the 2013 Inglis Melbourne August Thoroughbred Sale. The two-day sale at Oaklands will be conducted on 15 & 16 August.

Entries for the Sydney Ready 2 Race Sale in October are also being accepted. Early nominations, which receive a 50% discount on entry fee, close on Monday 1 July. Final entries close Friday 9 August.
