Position Vacant: Graphic Designer with Inglis (Maternity Leave Contract)

Australia’s leading thoroughbred auctioneer Inglis is looking for an experienced Graphic Designer to join their dynamic team. 

This is full-time maternity leave contract (13 months) working within Inglis’ Group Marketing team based at our Randwick, Sydney office.

The primary focus of the role is being our in house designer with a focus on both print and web design.  You will be involved with creating our marketing campaigns, which in addition to being the graphic designer you will be required to assist the team with other administration work.

The successful applicant must have a knowledge and passion for the Australian racing and breeding industries, be organised, creative, able to work to tight deadlines, a team player and have a great eye for detail.

The successful candidate may be required to undertake some interstate travel and additional work which is further outside usual business hours.

The primary responsibilities include:

  • Work from concept through to final production on print and digital advertising campaigns
  • Produce exciting & creative design concepts for project work including but not limited to, corporate brochures, magazines & special projects
  • Produce print-ready artwork for a range of items including company profiles, stationery, press advertisements, brochures, signage etc
  • Produce web-ready artwork for a range of items including advertisements, brochures etc
  • Make changes and amendments to designs working within timeframes/deadlines
  • Take initiative when working on documents and advise suggested value add ideas

Required Skills:

  • Relevant qualification and/or experience in Graphic Design
  • Comprehensive knowledge and experience in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop
  • Proficient in Adobe Suite CS6 and the Microsoft Suite
  • Good knowledge of HTML, CSS and Javascript (Flash would be an advantage)
  • A strong understanding of print production requirements & be able to create press ready materials
  • Able to work with both PC and MAC environments
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Exceptional organisational skills, ability to meet deadlines and a flexible attitude
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Passion and knowledge of the thoroughbred breeding and racing industries

Desirable Skills:

  • Photography & IT skills
  • Marketing experience
