Snap Up A Stallion Service and Support Lee Mannix
Lee always has a smile on her face - this is her reaction to placing 6th in a class |
Appaloosa breeder and western showing competitor Lee Mannix and her husband Brent, recently experienced a terrible tragedy. Brent was critically injured when his trail bike collided with a kangaroo at their small farm in Robinvale, Victoria. He suffered many injuries, including the fracturing of T 4,5 and 6 vertebrae, meaning that he will be a paraplegic. He is 42.
If you don't know Lee, she competes on Appaloosa mare MVA Ideal Dier (aka Lilly) and ALWAYS has a smile on her face, whichever end of the line she ends up after a class. She runs a small Appaloosa stud "MVA" and has one son Brock. Lee shows around Victoria and SA, and was hoping to get to the Nationals one day.
If you’re lucky enough to know Lee you'll know what a great trooper she is - she has a heart of gold and would give the shirt off her back.
This accident is a life changing, long-term situation and there is no 'fix', it's going to involve change; change of house, car, furniture, whatever is needed.
The horse community has rallied behind Lee. Her good friend, Ev Lagoon, has set up a Facebook page where you can find out about fundraising initiatives that are being undertaken to assist Lee and Brent, and get details for donating funds if you'd like to help. Many people have donated services to top Appaloosa and other breed stallions, to help raise money, so be sure to check it out if you're looking for a service. Several of the stallions on offer are listed in the Horsezone Stallions at Stud section.
Supporters have so far done an amazing job and raised over $8000.
