A huge day at Ekka today!

Galloways of all types ruled the ring, with jumping and one lone heavy horse in harness and then the Grand Parade took over at 1.00pm for an hour. This saw horses and ponies of all shapes and sizes strut their stuff in the main ring with a wide variety of other four legged (and even finned friends - yes, fish in bowls!).

After the Grand Parade it was back to the Galloways. Horsezone was proud to sponsor a rug for Champion Galloway Hack of Queensland, which was won by the very elegant Lightweight Galloway Sanlirra Talk Of The Town, ridden by Briony Payne and owned by Sherrie Uchtman. The lovely seven year old gelding did a very impressive workout for Champion and it was a pleasure to meet him and Briony, who has been riding this gorgeous boy since he was a two year old (pictured top right with Horsezone's Jo Johnson).

Of course, Ekka Wednesday wouldn't be the same without the World Cup Qualifier and tonight's did not disappoint. 18 year old Evie Buller (pictured below right) was triumphant over a classy field of horses and riders at only her fourth ever world cup start. Evie and her horse, Yalambi's Landor - who is only eight - have now placed second in two world cups and won one out of four. An amazing effort for a very talented young rider!
