RegistrationsMOORE CREEK, NSW
LocationMonrepo Debonaire (Jimmy)
Asking price: $25k
Chestnut colt with blaze
Height: EMH 16.2-3hh
DOB 26/10/2024
Sire: Donier (De Niro/Totilas/Londonderry)
Dam: Pr.St. Weltlicht (Weltmeyer/Donnerhall)
Temperament - Jimmy’s personality is super friendly, in your face, he just wants to be with you! Nothing much bothers him and he enjoys new experiences which indicates that he will take further education ‘in his stride’. Jimmy is playful with the other two foals but he is also happy to spend time by himself. His mum is the lowest ranked mare in the herd of three, so she stands back and happily waits for her turn. Jimmy has inherited this easy going nature whilst at the same time being an equal to the other two foals, definitely not the underdog.
Monrepo Pizazz (Jack)
Asking price: $25k
Height: EMH 16.1-2hh
Bay colt
DOB 14/10/2024
Sire: Prestige VDL (Silvano N/Goodtimes/Ahorn Z)
Dam: Challenger Jamellia (Jive Magic/Regardez Moi/Rubinstein I)
Temperament - His personality is very friendly, in your face, he just wants to be with you! Jack is inquisitive, nothing much bothers him and he enjoys new experiences. His mum is the lead mare of the herd which is reflected in him; he is the oldest and the boss of the three foals in the herd. He can be a bit opinionated but will make a sensible choice and back down, if repeatedly challenged.
Monrepo Faith’s Valour (Vivi)
Asking price: $22k
Chestnut filly - one white sock
Height: EMH 16.1-2hh
DOB 14/11/2024
Breed: Warmblood
Sire: Versace (Vivaldi/Ferro/Lancer II)
Dam: AACT Gem (Weltmeyer/Lunchtime (TB))
Temperament - Vivi’s personality is friendly and curious but the least ‘in your face’ of the three foals. She is confident but reserved. Vivi is the youngest of the three foals but has stood her ground right from the beginning. She lost her mother straight after birth and was fed by Jack’s mum - for that first half a day - until the surrogate mare arrived. Jack, who was one month old at the time, went from seeing her as an interesting toy to a bit of a threat but Vivi stood her ground even as a newly born foal. Jack backed down which was quite interesting to see!
Information applying to all three foals:
These sales present an amazing opportunity to take on such a beautiful straight forward youngster, who will have enough talent for a professional rider but the temperament to excel with a capable junior or amateur rider.
Conformation: The foals are modern, compact and athletic warmbloods, just like their outstanding parents. Their conformation will enable them to take to ‘life under saddle’ with willingness and acceptance.
Movement and temperament: In the article ‘Foal to FEI’ Maryanna Haymon, who has been breeding warmbloods for 27 years, says that dressage standouts can be spotted at the foal stage. She says that foals with an aptitude for dressage will perform such movements as piaffe half-steps, passage, flying changes, and canter pirouettes as they frolic in the field: “These things are natural to top-level horses when they are babies.”
Haymon also looks for evidence of innate bravery, curiosity, and a desire to interact with humans, all of which, she believes, stoke the work ethic needed for high-level dressage achievement. She likes to see a foal that’s willing to leave its dam’s side to come over, sniff and greet people.
These foals all present these future FEI attributes. They have lovely floating movement and their frolicking shows glimpses of those FEI movements.
Behaviour and handling: All foals are very easy to catch and have had basic handling and halter training. They have had their feet trimmed by the farrier and been floated with their mothers.
Feeding and management: The foals do not require any specific feeding or management. They will be weaned after Sydney CDI. They currently live off grass but eat mum’s hay an
